I was making a mess of extension cords, power strips, individual timers in my limited 2-outlets-per-room. I needed lights to turn on if I was out and didn't want to come home to a dark place but timers take up an entire outlet and rarely have plugs for more than 2 lamps. Then there's no place to plug in the lights you need for the room. After having too many cords and "clever" set ups that I was sure would start a fire some day, I found these surge protectors. What a great solution! and 8 outlets! 4 are on a timer and 4 are not. (There's one same on-off time for these 4 timed slots). I can have small lamps turn on when it gets dark and turn off when everyone's gone to bed or in the early morn. Meanwhile, you can still turn on the floor lamps or computer or whatever you want to turn on as you need to. And it's a surge protector so everything is safe. I bought two and it's made life a lot easier. It's one of those things that would make a good gift, too, because few know things like this exist and everyone I've told about this wants one.

The timer functions pretty well and seems to keep the time more accurately than my other one. The increments are nice and small and it's super easy to set. I like that one side is always on and the other is timed. I use it for my 2 aquatic turtles, so the always on side runs the pumps and heaters and the timed side is for the lights. I also like that it has a switch for the timer that's separate to the actual power so that you can leave the outlets on, but turn the timing function off. I'm not sure if the timer off means that the timed outlets get no power, but it would be handy if you needed to leave something important on, but didn't need the timer running at that moment (for debugging other problems, etc).

I have two but I won't get any more. It is a good enough product. As far as I can tell it is rebranded. I have found an identical line of powered timers under this brand Hyrofarm, Blueprint Controllers released by Sunleaves at my local hydroponics store, and on other sites as Gro1. I'm here to complain that these unit seem to be off by 10 minutes. The arrow designed to tell you what time the timer thinks it is off by a very accurate 10 minutes. Easy enough to work around but I will probably be replacing my units with digital units with powerstrips. I think the 10 minute increments are for an application other than lighting anyway.

Pros: Works as described. The timer is easy to use. Long power cord.
Cons: The outlets are all tightly squeezed together and so its difficult to utilize all 8 outlets if you want to plug in anything other than a simple plug. For my use I purchased it to plug in some computer related devices with AC adapters; mainly for the wifi router; to have it reset at a convenient time when not in use. As a result I'm limited to 4 outlets.

I have not been able to get the timer to work, so am turning on and off by hand. have grow light attached for winter basil, parsley, lettuce, spinach, oregano. the tomatoes did not live. the peppers ripened but did not set new. these had been moved when shut the garden down. next year will try starting from seed to see whether that works better for tomatoes and peppers. my goal is to have salads year round .

Good quality for the price. Easy to set up the timer and works perfectly for my large CFL grow lights in the seedling room. Cord is long enough to make use safer and more convenient. Mounted on the wall about 2 feet above the floor to keep from moisture/potential spills. Will be ordering more as my greenhouse gets finished and the seedling room fills up.

This surge protector is just what I needed. A total of 8 outlets altogether and every one has worked. I bought 2 for my fish tanks that require lighting to be on a timer and the timing is accurate--it doesn't appear to lose or gain minutes. The directions make it very easy to understand how to operate. All in all a great purchase.

I am currently using two of the timed outlets for my fluorescent lights and one of the timed outlets for my CO2 tank solenoid. The untimed outlets are used for two heaters, the filter, and a night LED light. No other outlets are needed. The timer is easily set up and it works much like any other outlet timer.

I bought one of these and it worked! Bought another in October 2016 and it started making a "winding" noise in January of '17. Sounds must be coming from the timer. It's not too loud but it is distracting. Our first one still works fine.

Great looking all in one setup, But can't hold the load it's rated for and I bought four of these. After 3rd to 4th day in use they were tripping off with 1200 Jules. Great for all around uses but not for the stuff with a big draw.
